LGBTQ+ Speaker Series: Cross-Sector Partnerships
I was privileged to continue collaborating with CVS Health and Accenture on the CVS Health-Accenture LGBTQ+ Health Equity Speaker Series for its next session–Building Cross-Sector Partnerships & Solutions. As a founding member and producer of the series, I continued my core team role as we explored what good cross-sector LGBTQ+ partnerships, solutions, and health equity models could look like. We brought major thought leaders onto the panel, including Admiral Rachel Levine, Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Dan Finke, Executive Vice President with CVS Health and President of Aetna; Jimmy Etheredge, Chief Executive Officer for Accenture North America; and Janson Wu, Executive Director of GLAD. Moderating the panel was Kristen Hines, Managing Director of Strategy and Consulting at Accenture. View the discussion on YouTube.
This discussion on cross-sector LGBTQ+ partnerships was the culmination of a year of work, building to a point where we can begin to overhaul how we think about these models. The three prior sessions were equally helpful in rethinking LGBTQ+ health equity dynamics. To learn more about the overall series and first session on the legacy of health care difficulties the LGBTQ+ community has faced and subsequent COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine impacts, check out my first announcement. To learn about the second session on the transgender health care patient experience, check out my second announcement. To learn about the third session on mental wellness, check out my third announcement.
This marks the end of a first year producing the LGBTQ+ Health Equity Speaker Series. I’m proud of all we have accomplished and hope people can continue to learn about and apply health equity to their day-to-day lives. All steps forward–even the smallest of steps–help improve health outcomes for LGBTQ+ community members.
To our collective health!
