Website CMS Facepalming: Do Not Do a Melissa

Right now, I’m conducting my own personal Website CMS Facepalming. Apparently, my contact me form has not been working for a very, very long time. In fact, it may have stopped working at inception. I swear I tested it. I built this site during the pandemic so we had time, right?

What an embarrassment. I always wondered the reason for not receiving even one contact beyond spam across several years. Lo and behold, the fault could entirely reside on me. The submission form was setup to submit but had a broken connection in the background. So any submission was completely and totally lost in cyberspace.

I’m in the middle of a site overhaul due to some exciting upcoming news, and I finally investigated this situation. I replaced the form submission, tested the new setup, and dusted my hands off in satisfaction. Then, I looked one final time at the old setup. And then, I found a very small broken connection creating a very large issue.

Facepalm. Gigantic, embarrassing, multi-year facepalm.

Every person makes mistakes. I’m glad I finally–finally–found this issue. If you ever submitted a contact request with no response, please accept my sincerest apologies.

I look forward to creating some new content, and stay tuned for the exciting news! Coming to a melissapprice.com near you!
